Tracy Talk iOS Privacy Policy
Updated: 2026-11-05
Scope
This policy applies to Tracy Talk for iPhone and iPad. You can create, import, edit and read local scripts without an account. Mac Link is optional; other features and external services on your Mac are managed by that app’s settings and disclosures.
Scripts and reading preferences
Scripts you enter or import, and Mac answers you choose to save, are stored in this app’s sandbox. Text size, scroll speed and app language are stored on your device. The app does not automatically upload this content to a developer server. It has no iCloud script sync, advertising, behavioral analytics, third-party analytics SDKs or tracking. Delete scripts using their options menu. Uninstalling the app removes its local data, but does not delete system backups or copies you have made elsewhere. Depending on your device settings, the operating system may include app data in backups; those backups are managed by you and your system service provider.
Optional Mac Link
Only after you scan, paste or open pairing information and confirm a Mac does the app connect to its local address. An encrypted, read-only connection receives text and reading position. No developer-operated cloud relay is used. Reading controls you use on this device stay local and do not control the Mac. Content is saved in your script library only when you choose Save Script. Pairing credentials remain in memory for the active app session and are not retained after termination. Disconnection preserves the displayed content. Your local script library is not uploaded to the Mac. Connect only to a Mac you trust. Content your Mac processes through external services is governed by its own settings and disclosures.
Camera, Local Network and file access
The camera is used only to recognize pairing QR codes on your device. The app does not save or upload photos or videos and requests camera access only when you open the scanner. If you decline, you can paste or manually enter pairing information. Local Network access is used only for the optional connection to your Mac; offline reading still works if you decline it. Importing accesses only the TXT or Markdown file you choose in the system file picker. Pasting is initiated by you. The app does not request microphone, contacts, location or advertising tracking permissions. You can manage permissions in Settings.
Support and external services
Contact Support opens your chosen mail app. You review the message and decide whether to send it. Only if you send an email do we receive your email address and the content you provide, which we use to respond to and handle your support request. Do not include passwords, pairing QR codes or sensitive scripts. Your mail service processes the message. You can contact support to request deletion of support emails we hold, subject to records we must retain by law. The app does not automatically send diagnostic information or scripts in the background.
